Marine Tower Gangways
When ship deck heights and tidal variations are more than the range provided by the Column Gangway, we recommend the Tower Gangway design.
In this design a telescopic marine gangway is mounted onto a turntable on the face of the tower. The telescopic gangway is then raised and lowered vertically between its deck levels by electrical hoist and an intelligent design that allows the gangway to be deployed onto the ship deck. When the ship height changes, such that the maximum working angle of the gangway is about to be reached, an alarm sounds to warn operators and the gangway will elevate or lower to the next deck so that a safe working angle is maintained, accommodating the changing levels of the ship while at berth. The visiting vessels can range from barge up to ULCC class ships.
The gangway can be accessed from inside the tower using the staircases and deck levels for maximum flexibility.
Like the Column gangway, the Tower Gangway can be fitted with a crane, fire monitor, control cabin or floodlights. Also, with this type of design, the tower can be clad in fireproof materials to provide added safety to operators escaping in the event of an emergency.
It is the largest of the systems we offer, but because of its modular construction, can be shipped anywhere in the world and very easily constructed by local M&E teams under our supervision.
